Portales and Roosevelt County Quality of Life: Arts and Culture

Portales is a city of arts, culture, and entertainment. Thanks to the presence of Eastern New Mexico University, a nationally-known fine arts university, internationally-recognized musicians, actors, dance troupes, authors, and scientists frequently travel through the city and perform concerts, plays, lectures, and more. The Portales Chamber of Commerce, Main Street Inc., and the City of Portales also host more than a dozen downtown events each year. Annual events include Wine Fest, Heritage Days, the Christmas Parade of Lights, and more.

The Clovis-Portales Metroplex is host to a huge range of activites, all less than 30 minutes away! There is an event for every taste, including nationally-ranked rodeos, opera performances, art shows, motorcyle rallies, and classic car shows. The Clovis Community College Cultural Arts Series is known to bring in Grammy-winning musicians and famous actors for its productions, which delight the community during its fall season.
